Paintings 2003 - 2006
In these earlier works on wood, the grain coils through, grabbing the colors of nature’s palette. Among the representational paintings, I welcome the tension between figures held still and the promise of a tale beyond the borders of the painting. Among the more abstract compositions, “Primal Geometry” -- a perfect circle intersected with diameters and triangles -- is no match for the passions, the primal forces, within. That theme comes to fruition in my current work.
